History

Oakmere W. I. was formed fifty-three years ago, although the Hertfordshire Federation of Women’s Institutes was formed 90 years ago in 1919.

Our institute is lively and outward looking and the

members enjoy meeting new visitors and having new interests.

Awards for all

In December 2008 Oakmere applied for a Lottery grant to enable us to go

to Denman College for three nights courses and enjoy a day trip there.  There is also to be a visit to Wimpole Hall for the day in the summer of 2009.

A laptop computer will be purchased so that members may use it to gain confidence in accessing the Internet and keep their own computer healthy and virus free.
