Picture shows our Secretary, Pam Bond, with members from other WI's who attended a two day course on silver jewellery making at Denman College.  She was thrilled to come home with a silver bangle and a necklace to show off to the rest of our members.

Oakmere WI recently had a stall at the Mount Grace School Xmas Fayre, and raised some money for our WI funds.  Picture shows Jacky Walker, Betty Miller, Pam Wright and Pam Bond.

Rosemary Barry attended a Sugar Craft course at Denman College.

‘Having made each ivy leaf out of sugar paste the wire was inserted in each one, black powder was brushed into the centre and then each one was bound with florists’ tape, and then taped again into a spray to form the background to the cake decoration. The hellebore was made and assembled in the same way.’

The final result of the Sugar Craft course ‘The other flowers, buds and leaves were treated in the same way until the whole floral decoration was complete.’

‘Members examining the glass models made by Chick Martin in September.’
